1963 June: By this time, during the building of the Standard Gauge Railway, the Methodist Church in Duke Street and eight houses had already been demolished, including the original Rev. Charles Harper home ‘Braybrook’ and the ‘Doctor’s House’ (former Magistrate’s residence).
