This Day in History: 1941-01-26

A wood gas producer plant of local manufacture and a second-hand Rushton-Hornsby gas engine commenced operation at the Toodyay Power House. It replaced the Petter fuel engines, due to rising prices of fuel and lubricating oil. Residents soon complained about the smoke and noise.
