This Day in History: 1938-05-24

At a meeting in the Toodyay Lesser Hall, the Toodyay Literary and Debating Society, was formed for men. The office-bearers of the society were Ernest Lee Steere (president), Rev. Dr. Lancelot Goody and Mr. Harold S. Campbell (vice presidents) and Daniel J. Dullea (secretary). The first debate on 7 June was on ‘National insurance’.
