The Boomerang Ladies Hockey Club, in conjunction with the Bristile Bulldogs Men’s Club of Perth, visited Toodyay and gave the first demonstration of baseball in the district to a large attendance on the Toodyay Showgrounds. “Adverse weather conditions and the appalling state of the Toodyay show ground completely spoiled any chance whatever of a good exhibition of baseball by the visiting teams.”  Two teams of men played, followed by a men’s team defeating the women’s team (the score was 8-6).
