1933 December: Joseph Ablett Wroth retired as Secretary to the Toodyay Road Board, a position he had held for 46 years (1879-1880, 1889-1933). He continued working until 2 Jan. 1934, when the new Secretary-Inspector Sydney Rawnsley Hardwicke was due to start. At the 9 Dec. 1933 Road Board Meeting, at which he was present, Wroth was granted 7 weeks leave on full pay, from 2 January 1934, as he had taken no holidays in the last 5 years.
