This Day in History: 1928-01-05

Coachbuilder Jonathan Somers died, after a long illness, at his residence, Kelvedon, in Toodyay. At that time, Somers was the Chairman of the Toodyay Road Board and had been a former Mayor of Newcastle. A well-respected resident, he had lived in Toodyay for 37 years.
