This Day in History: 1927-06-11
A Toodyay branch of the Country Women’s Association of Western Australia was formed at a public meeting for women. The meeting, convened by Mrs. E.W. (ie K.M.) Beard, and chaired by Mrs. A.N. Piesse, was held in the Toodyay Road Board Chambers, Stirling Terrace. Mrs. Craven Griffiths, the State President, was present. The following ladies were nominated to various positions: President: Mrs. A. Piesse, Vice presidents: Mrs. G. Haymes, Mrs. E.G. Hasson. Secretary/Treasurer, Mrs. E.W. Beard. The meeting adjourned to the Haymes’ Wendouree Tea Rooms.
