This Day in History: 1926-12-04
An offer to purchase the old Toodyay Mechanics’ Institute on Stirling Terrace was rejected by the Toodyay Road Board. Chairman Jonathan Somers said his idea was to create a rest room for women and children in the building. Toodyay did not have a branch of the Country Women’s Association of Western Australia, unlike Bolgart and Calingiri, where branches had been formed in 1924 and 1925 respectively.
