This Day in History: 1926-03-03
The first primary products exhibition of the Toodyay Fruitgrowers’ Association was opened by John Lindsay MLA in the Toodyay Town Hall. Technical judges from Perth were impressed with the quality of the exhibits. Table grapes and pears were the strongest sections. Best babies, twins and nail driving for women competitions also featured. Although having only been in existence eight months, the Association sent cases of fruit directly to customers from Geraldton to Gnowangerup.
