This Day in History: 1925-02-05
A fire caused by sparks from a locomotive using Collie coal, on the Toodyay-Bolgart Railway line, badly damaged all but the northern part of the Anglican section of the Toodyay General Cemetery on Telegraph Road. A picket fence dividing the Nonconformist and Roman Catholic portions of the cemetery was severely damaged and all wooden railings and head slabs were burnt, while the marble stones were scorched.
