This Day in History: 1924-10-22

The Premier, Philip Collier MLA, opened the Toodyay Agricultural Show at the Showgrounds. In spite of the ideal weather conditions, attendance was barely up to the usual standard, and the exhibits were fewer in number, the cause being the prevalence of a measles epidemic, which necessitated whole families or one or more members of very many families in the district staying at home. Over 100 motor cars were parked on the ground, while many could not gain admittance.
