This Day in History: 1923-09-10

The Governor-General of Australia, Lord Henry William Forster, and Lady Forster, visited Toodyay, arriving by motor car from Northam, at 3pm. They were accompanied by Sir James Mitchell (Premier of Western Australia) and Lady Mitchell.  Their Excellencies were attended by Captains Forster and Lawrence. Afternoon tea, hosted by the Toodyay Road Board, was enjoyed in the Town Hall. After festivities had ceased at the hall, His Excellency and party were motored to some of the beauty spots in the district, a procession of six cars leaving the hall.
