This Day in History: 1919-06-29

At St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Toodyay, a new bell was dedicated to the memory of Sgt. H.W. (Harry) Lukin, who had been a member of the 28th Battalion A.I.F. and was killed in action at Poziers on 27 July 1916. Over 200 people gathered round the bell, also a large number of returned soldiers (in uniform).
