This Day in History: 1914-10-27
The Northam Agricultural Show, organized by the Northam Agricultural Society, was held, but limited to one day only. A bad season and the non-payment of Government subsidies had compelled the York, Beverley, and Toodyay Agricultural Societies to abandon their exhibitions. For York and Toodyay this was the first time in more than half a century that these districts had NOT had their annual show.
