This Day in History: 1912-09-07

A public meeting was held in Toodyay to protest the closure of the State Lands Dept. sub-agency in the town. This agency’s role was to collect rents for Government land. Residents from as far as Bolgart and Wyening would have to go to the Northam sub-agency to conduct this business. It was resolved to send a deputation to the Minister for Lands and Agriculture, Thomas Henry Bath.
