This Day in History: 1911-08-28

A public meeting of ratepayers was held in Toodyay to discuss the pros and cons of merging the Toodyay Municipality with the Road Board District. Two ratepayers attended but not the usual two. The Toodyay Municipal Council’s low revenue made it difficult for it to do more than patch the streets, and North Toodyay did not wish to join the Municipality. The meeting resolved to conduct a referendum.
