This Day in History: 1908-07-15

The opening ceremony of the new Croquet Club was held in the grounds of the Newcastle Tennis Club, afterwards known as the Newcastle Tennis and Croquet Club, located near the Avon River and the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church. The new club proposed to lay down a lawn.
