Water from the Northam section of Goldfields Water Supply Scheme reached Newcastle and flowed into the 1,000 gallon back pressure tank on Mt. Pelham. A 10,000 gallon reservoir had also been constructed with a 100,000 gallon reservoir planned for a later date.
