1906 February: The Under Secretary of Works formally terminated the tenancy of the Newcastle Municipal Council of the old Newcastle Post Office premises on Lot 19 (on the corner of Clinton Street and Fiennes Street), with a view to having the property used for recreation purposes. The old building was then demolished.
