This Day in History: 1904-06-08

A hockey match was played on the Newcastle Recreation Ground between teams of ladies and gentlemen. The gentlemen, captained by Bernard Maurice Connor, wore skirts as a handicap. The ladies won by 1 point. A similar game was played in Bunbury on 30 April 1903.
