This Day in History: 1904-01-18

A public meeting was convened by Mayor Henry Davey Jnr. in the Newcastle Council Chambers to consider reticulating the town and district with water from the Goldfields Water Supply Scheme. A motion was passed that matters be left in the hands of the Town Council. The Road Board was approached to obtain their assistance.
