This Day in History: 1902-09-02

A public meeting convened by Anglican Rector, the Rev. George Digby Wilson, was held at the Newcastle Mechanics’ Institute “to receive subscriptions and to decide upon action re improvement to the Anglican and Wesleyan portions of the Newcastle Cemetery.” A decision was made to erect a picket fence and new gates.
