This Day in History: 1902-05-10
The Newcastle herald and Toodyay District chronicle newspaper commenced. The first Editor and proprietor was Charles Dawson, previously on the staff of the Northam advertiser. Prior to Northam, he was a partner in the firm of Courtney and Dawson, late of the Greenbushes advocate. J. Mackay was the other member of staff, who worked for the paper for the first two years.
