This Day in History: 1902-05-05

A public meeting was held in the Newcastle Municipal Chambers to discuss the lack of a Resident Medical Officer in the Toodyay district. Acting Mayor Charles George Ellery presided. A communication was to be sent to the Premier and the Colonial Secretary. Dr John B. Dunlop, of Northam, had been instructed by the State government to attend patients in the Newcastle Hospital.
