This Day in History: 1897-02-10
The new Coondle Provisional School on part of Lot 820, Phillips Road, Coondle, was opened with a community fund-raising celebration, which included sports and, later, a dance and concert in the new schoolroom. The school’s first teacher, Miss Mercie Syred, officially commenced teaching on 16 September.
