This Day in History: 1896-08-08
The Toodyay Oddfellows’ Society (ie the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows. Loyal Toodyay Lodge, 6211, Newcastle) were accepting tenders to this date for the building of its Oddfellows’ Hall (now the Christmas 360 shop) which was to be one floor only, instead of two floors as previously reported. The tender was secured by the Hasson Bros. (Edmund Glover Hasson and William Wallace Hasson) of Newcastle for something near £900.
