This Day in History: 1895-05-24

The Newcastle Lawn Tennis Club gave a very successful ball at the Newcastle Hotel Assembly Rooms. Over eighty were present, including a goodly number of visitors from Northam and Perth. The rooms were kindly lent by Edward Francis Robins, the new landlord of the hotel. The club had had a very successful season, and members are looking forward to playing matches shortly with other clubs.
