This Day in History: 1894-06-08

The first pruning competition in the Colony was held by the Toodyay Vine and Fruit Growers’ Association at the Cooringa Vineyard, in the presence of over 60 people. James Cain, J. Birch and Arthur C. Vaughan won first prizes.
