This Day in History: 1891-08-25

Travelling American balloonist, Miss Millie Viola, made a successful hot air balloon ascent and parachute descent at Newcastle, at 2pm. She used her new balloon, the ‘Phoenix’. She also made a successful ascent at Northam a few days later.
