This Day in History: 1886-06-26

A public meeting was held in Newcastle regarding the proposal to make the terminus of the branch line of the Eastern Railway, from Clackline to Newcastle, at the eastern extremity of the town, far from all public buildings (including the telegraph and postal departments).
