This Day in History: 1886-04-09

It was reported that the Newcastle Municipal Council was contemplating the removal of “a grand old blue gum tree, standing near Connor’s mill” and St. Stephen’s Anglican Church on New Road, Newcastle. This tree is still there today (2022).
