This Day in History: 1884-10-02

Daniel Connor, storekeeper of Newcastle, made application to the Dept. of Land Titles to be registered as the owner of Avon Location U4 (2,900 acres, known as ‘Hawthornden’), north of Newcastle in the Toodyay Valley, and a portion (3,000 acres) of Avon Location U3 (known as ‘Mt. Anderson’), to the south of U4.
