Reserve No. 529 (100 acres) on the road from Guildford to Newcastle at Tea-Tree Swamp, which included the Belaring Spring, was gazetted as a ‘Watering and Stopping Place for Teams’, to provide facilities for bullock and horse teams used to haul supplies.
