1869 November 2-3: Governor Sir Frederick Aloysius Weld attended the 16th Show of the Toodyay, Northam and Victoria Plains Agricultural Society, staying in Newcastle with Resident Magistrate William John Clifton. He also attended the Races and Agricultural Ball on the following day.
