This Day in History: 1855-02-06
The Government School at old Toodyay was opened, in a large brick building that accommodated boarders. About 350 adults and 280 children gathered from 20-30 miles around, for the occasion. The school was built with a Government grant of £250. Alfred Grey was the first teacher.
