This Day in History: 1851-08-04

The Government purchased Lot 69 (10 acres with a cottage) and the adjacent Lot R1 (1 ½ acres) in old Toodyay from John Herbert for £100, for use as the first site of the Toodyay Convict Hiring Depot.
