This Day in History: 1836-09-16
1836 September 16-27: Governor Sir James Stirling led an expedition to the Toodyay Valley, where he quickly selected a grant later known as Deepdale (Avon Location 3).
He also stipulated that the future site for the township of Toodyay would be placed at the mouth of the Avon Valley.
