This Day in History: 1836-01-02

During 1836, George Leake was assigned Avon Location 1 (called Coondle), and other grants were assigned to the north to Alfred Waylen (Avon Location 11, later known as Woodendale), Richard Norman (Avon Location 1A, known as the Norman Estate) and Thomas Newte Yule (Avon Location 5, later known as The Byeen).
