What’s in a Name?, by Beth Frayne.
As a result of an enquiry in 2007, the Toodyay Historical Society received a list of all the approved road and street names in the Shire of Toodyay, from the Geographic Names Section, of the WA Department of Land Information. We also received a list of the names of all the natural topographic features in the Shire, such as brooks and hills, and other names such as reserves.
This essay, published in the Toodyay Herald, Feb. 2007, p.20, is as published in 2007, with a few additions in square brackets. GEONOMA information, mentioned in the essay, is now (in 2021) available online: https://catalogue.data.wa.gov.au/dataset/geographic-names-geonoma
