This resource contains the names and biographical and service information of WW1 service people who have some association with the Toodyay and Bolgart (as far north as Calingiri) districts. The main list includes service people who either were born or grew up in Toodyay/Newcastle, or were in the district in the 1910s (WW1 period) and the early to mid 1920s, when the Toodyay War Memorial was created (unveiled 1921), and also may appear on other local war memorials and rolls.
Names in bold in the list: Name is on Toodyay war memorials (obelisk, plaques, honor board, church and cemetery memorials)
The list was originally created by Society researcher Beth Frayne to support a Shire of Toodyay Museums WW1 exhibition ‘Remembering Them’ first displayed in 2015. The Name List contains basic information about each service person in the Main List, for example, Name and life dates: Anderson, Stanley (1896- 1965); Service no.: 231; AIF P; Comment: Private; Comment: Served in France; POW.
