Beth Frayne discovered in 2009 a wonderful article about Newcastle published in the 23 December 1905 issue (p.5-6) of the Newcastle herald and Toodyay district chronicle. As the article does not include a by-line, we may assume it was written by the first Editor of the newspaper Charles Dawson, formerly on the staff of the Northam advertiser. Some extracts and photographs from the article have been reproduced in the attached article.
