From Part 1: Corporal Robert Courtney Green: The recent Commemorative Event on 19th July [2010] at the new Fromelles (Pheasant Wood) Military Cemetery in France had a special connection with the Toodyay area. One of the First World War soldiers now buried there was Corporal Robert Courtney Green, who spent his last years in the Toodyay-Bolgart-Wyening area before enlisting to fight. He died in the Battle of Fromelles and was buried by the Germans in a mass grave.
From Part 2: Robert Courtney Green’s Australian Life: I have continued the search for more information about Robert Green’s life in Australia. I started searching for the farm, ‘Wundaleigh’.
